Denis Stoff, former frontman of metal bands Asking Alexandria and Make Me Famous is back with another Sumerian Records band, Drag Me Out. The four-piece rock band dropped their first single ‘I’m Sorry’ earlier this week and it has made serious waves on social media.

When lead singer Danny Worsnop stepped away from Asking Alexandria in 2015, Stoff was brought in as the new vocalist and was featured on Asking Alexandria’s 2016 album ‘The Black.’ In October of 2016, guitarist Ben Bruce confirmed over a Facebook Live video that Stoff had quit Asking Alexandria and the band would later go on to add Worsnop back as their vocalist.

Since Stoff’s shocking departure, no one has heard much from him in the musical world. That is, until now.

‘I’m Sorry’ is an edgy and upbeat rock single that makes quite the first impression. The chorus is catchy, there are beautiful layers of clean vocals over the chorus and the bridge is something quite relatable and powerful:

“When that black cloud of anxiety keeps you a lonely company and it drowns you in your dreams and it tears you at your fucking seams, just look at me. It's such a shame it took the end to set me free."

The instrumentals throughout this song are extraordinarily powerful and well-written. The song is very upbeat and driving, invoking an urge to just get up and dance. One thing is for sure, this is a song to take note of and it will be interesting to see where Drag Me Out goes from here.
