The highly anticipated and the awaited sophomore full-length from Knocked Loose, A Different Shade of Blue, has finally released. The heavy-hitting kings of metalcore raised the bar with a few singles released early from the album, really setting the tone for just how heavy they can take things. 

You can tell the time they took in between this and their last album, Laugh Tracks. Each song is well thought out, and they’ve matured as a band to give you the absolute best, hard-hitting music. With the punishing track, Forget Your Name, that features Every Time I Die’s vocalist Keith Buckley, you hear the bass come through in the intro, enough to shake your bones. The entire lead-up to Keith’s verse is enough to cause a riot. 

Then you also have Guided by the Moon, which highlights why this album will definitely be in a lot of people’s top albums and album of the year lists. This is where they highlight the title, A Different Shade of Blue, in the lyrics, driven by passion and emotion, with the anger behind it from the instruments can really hit strings with a lot of people. 

With a great tracklist like this, one can only wonder what happened to the new song they were opening with a lot on tour, that has a few live videos taken of it. We can only hope in the near future, but this new album is definitely fulfilling everyone’s Knocked Loose fixes.
