Black Veil Brides announced the departure of long-time bassist Ashley Purdy only a couple of weeks ago, and have since announced that Lonny Eagleton will be the replacement.

In an interview with Alternative Press, Biersack explained the shift in the band’s method of releasing new music. He talked about the amount of content the band has released over the years and his yearning for a shift. 

Enter the new era of BVB: duologies.

Biersack and the members realized the band needed a break from releasing full-length albums and EPs. BVB is taking 2020 on with a new wave of two-song EPs released between shorter lengths of time. The first of their duologies, The Night, is out now and features the tracks “Saints Of The Blood”, and “The Vengeance”. 

The first song off the duology, “Saints Of The Blood” carries an air of familiarity. The first addictive riff plays through several times, followed by additional layers of guitar. Andy’s vocals kick in, the song is upbeat, catchy, and is one that you can envision fans headbanging to. The uniqueness of vocals, backup vocals, and instrumentals fit so well together. The guitar parts in this song are written very stylistically; which sees the Black Veil Brides rising to a new level in their discography. This band does a great job sticking to their rock roots and manages to churn out incredibly catchy tunes.

“The Vengeance”  features a strong guitar and drum presence beginning with the first few notes. This song is faster and edgier than its b-side. The fast-paced guitar solos and drum beats make this song keep your eardrums engaged and lungs screaming the lyrics.
