Grammy-nominated Pittsburgh metal band Code Orange are rolling out a new album Underneath on March 13th, 2020 through Roadrunner Records. The follow-up to 2017’s Forever, the band will be exploring darker sonic territory and new influences as well.

Lead single “Underneath”, released with the album announcement on January 10th, 2020, carries a prominent Nine Inch Nails aura, as well as the revered, yet underrated, 90’s industrial metal band Pitchshifter. It explores a sound that, while may not be as unhinged as on previous records, proves Code Orange are continuing to evolve at a rapid pace.

Of course, Code Orange have always tinkered with ambient and industrial influences, particularly on their debut album Love Is Love / Return To Dust in 2012. The often sludgy sound on that record foreshadowed the sound the band would embrace on both 2014’s I Am King and 2017’s breakout Forever

No tours have been announced yet, but Code Orange will be performing at various festivals this spring, including Coachella, Epicenter, Welcome to Rockville, and Sonic Temple.
