New Jersey band Visenya may be newcomers to the ever-growing post-hardcore/alternative scene, but when it comes to delivering beautifully heavy and immersive musical experiences, it’s easy to see why they’re setting themselves apart from the crowd. On their 2019 EP Common Place, Visenya displayed charismatically layered vocals, infectiously driven lyricism, clever melodic guitar riffs, and technical emotionally-inflected drum work, showing they could content with some of the greatest of bands in the genre, such as Dance Gavin Dance, Hands Like Houses, Issues, and Pierce The Veil.

Now the band is turning the tables to provide a stripped-down interpretation of EP track “House Divided”. A restrained, less busy approach, it forces us to focus on the stratified vocal precision and inventive playing styles of both guitar and percussion acoustic elements that we wouldn’t be able to experience otherwise on the original EP. A great avenue to explore for the band, it provides fans a cathartic musical experience that incessantly captures them in its smartly crafted austere instrumental and vocal soundscape.
