Given the recent Super Bowl championship, Kansas City has been garnering its share of relevant attention, but it’s not just Missouri’s football team that has people talking lately. With an influx of bands gaining popularity from the Kansas City area, we can now add state-born band Royal Order to the growing list of talent.

Formed in 2018, rock/alternative polymaths Royal Order started off as nothing more than a music project in Kansas City, MO. After amassing over 50,000 streams on their debut EP Royal Order in 2018, they started to earn an opulence of attention. Having opened for heavy hitting bands such as Escape The Fate, Wolves At The Gate, From Ashes To New, and a portion of the Scarlett O’Hara “Welcome To The Brodeo” tour, the band is out to prove that have what it takes to tango with the best of them in the industry.

Royal Order flavors their sound with nostalgic 2000’s melodic vigor, while fusing modern technical metal vignettes into each experience. Since 2018, the band succeeds at creating a sound that breaches traditional rock narratives by mixing contagious hard hitting chorus’s and fast paced verses, with a diverse instrumental pallet that keeps listeners coming back for more.

Now the band brings this same energy to 2020 with the new cover release of “Lucid Dreams' ' by Juice WRLD. The passing of the rap icon had an impacting effect on the band.

“When news of Juice WRLD passed, we were debating what to do with the song, and we felt that there was no better way to release it, but with paying homage to one of the most influential rappers of the decade,” said vocalist Michael Whitmire. “Aaron, our drummer, did a phenomenal job on the music video, and Alex did an amazing job creating melodies and helping build the song with Sam.”

Capturing the magic of Royal Order’s unique style of rich atmosphere, transfixing infectious vocals, and melding beautiful hard-rock melodies throughout, it’s a tribute that is worth the listen. Check out the track below!
