It seems like there isn’t going to be as long of a wait for new Bring Me The Horizon music as we may have anticipated. Just yesterday, the band was at the BRIT Awards for their nomination for “Best British Group”, where they revealed in an interview with NME that we can expect new music from them soon.

Frontman Oliver Sykes told NME that they will be getting into the studio shortly after the award show and that they won’t know until they all get into the studio together what sort of sound the new music will have, because their concepts are constantly evolving. He goes on to mention that they have ideas for the new music but that “a cosmic force” may take them in a different direction. You can watch the full interview below.

In another recent interview with Clash Magazine, Sykes was asked about future projects. “I think Amo was a purge, in a sense, because there’s loads of music and styles that we just love and wanted to do,” he said. “But at the same time there is a lack of seriously heavy music, and angry music, and passionate music, in that sense, where it’s about rebellion.”

Sykes continues, “There’s a lack of that in the mainstream. We want to write another record like that - whether we will or not, I’m not sure, but it’s still what we love…” While not completely committing to the idea of returning to the angry, abrasive sound of the early days of this band, it would be a sight to see Bring Me The Horizon “Trojan horse” heavy music into the mainstream.

Just a few months ago they released their experimental EP Music to listen to~, which had mixed reviews, as well as collaborated with Halsey on “Experiment on Me”, which was featured on the Birds of Prey soundtrack.

We are excited to hear what the next iteration of Bring Me The Horizon will sound like. What sound do you think their new music will have or what are you hoping to hear from them? Let us know in the comments below!
