Dance Gavin Dance have kept the world waiting on the edge of their seat for their illustrious tenth album, which had been hidden under the shroud of "DGDX" to the fans and even the band itself. Today, the band have officially announced the release of their upcoming album Afterburner, set for an April 24th release through Rise Records.

Along with the album announcement, Dance Gavin Dance have debuted the lead single “Prisoner”, which features Sergio Medina of Royal Coda. With bouncy technical guitar work, beautiful lyricism by Tilian Pearson and Jon Mess, and a triumphant chorus, this song more than lives up to the Dance Gavin Dance name.

After the release of two infectiously catchy singles, “Head Hunter” and “Blood Wolf”, in 2019, fans were anxious to hear what would come next from the post-hardcore staples. Dance Gavin Dance consistently produce quality music, their most recent full-length Artificial Selection coming just two years ago.

On top of their own music, Dance Gavin Dance curates SwanFest, a festival filled with “swancore” bands, a genre of music they helped spearhead. Along with Dance Gavin Dance, this year’s lineup consists of Animals As Leaders, Knocked Loose, Movements, Crown the Empire, and many more.

Despite several lineup changes and current members branching out to different bands, Dance Gavin Dance maintains a truly unique sound with every release. There is no doubt that will continue with Afterburner.
