It started with a black out picture on their social media accounts a few days ago and just yesterday they posted a video with a phone number fans could dial.
Calling the number (480)-360-0172 brings fans to a speech that was given by Derek Sanders of Mayday Parade at the festival last summer. In the voice clip, we can hear him say how he never really found a place that he fit in, until he found this music community, and about how going to these shows gives people like him a chance to forget about all of life's problems, even if just for one day. The call ends with an automated voice saying "Thank you for calling the Sad Summer hotline, we look forward to seeing you soon", which we can take to assume means tour dates are about to be announced!
Last year the festival featured bands such as The Maine, State Champs, Stand Atlantic, The Wonder Years, and many more. Who do you hope is on the Sad Summer Fest lineup this year? Let us know in the comments.
