Nine years ago, one of the most popular post-hardcore super groups formed in Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (D.R.U.G.S.). Their self-titled debut album was released through Pete Wentz record label, Decaydance Records, and was produced by Goldfinger legend, John Feldman. While several false reports of the band’s return surfaced over the years, no concrete evidence could be validated.

That was until a few days ago, when an image had began to circulate from a Russian social media site with reports that a single from D.R.U.G.S. is slated for a March 3rd release under the title "King I Am", with a detailed quality drawing of a crowned skull plastered across the band's name written over and over in sequence.

These rumors would quickly become a reality earlier this morning. D.R.U.G.S. have officially returned with their first music in nine years. “King I Am” was released as a demo to the masses, along with the announcement that Craig Owens remains the only confirmed member of the band. Worry not, as Craig Owens has never had a problem finding musicians to fill the instrumental side of his projects.

When Craig Owens disbanded the project in 2012 to reunite with Chiodos, one sad caveat remained that the rest of the members were not allowed to make music together as D.R.U.G.S., and ultimately wasn't allowed to exist without Craig Owens. With the release of this track, it looks like that deal doesn't apply to him, as he can make music without any of the other former members approval.

It remains to be seen if the original line up will return. Currently, this is all rabid speculation as there has been no official word. Rest assured, 2020 is shaping up to be one of the best years for scene music we have seen in a very long time.
