Trivium have returned today with their catastrophic new single, “Catastrophist.” Last year, the band released four demos, yet they have not produced an album since 2017’s The Sin and The Sentence. The new single had a live premiere on Youtube, which streamed at 9 am EST. Along with the single, came the announcement that “Catastrophist” will be a part of their ninth studio album, What The Dead Men Say, available worldwide April 24, 2020 through Roadrunner Records.

What The Dead Men Say Track List:

1. "IX"
2. "What The Dead Men Say"
3. "Catastrophist"
4. "Amongst The Shadows And The Stones"
5. "Bleed Into Me"
6. "The Defiant"
7. "Sickness Unto You"
8. "Scattering The Ashes"
9. "Bending The Arc To Fear"
10. "The Ones We Leave Behind"

Accompanying the single was an interesting survival game-inspired music video. The first minute of the seven and a half minute music video introduces the viewer to the scene. From a static TV to a forest with “Blair Witch” vibes, it is clear the aspect of survival is in place. With the ring of an alarm clock, both the game and the song commence. Instantly the viewer becomes enthralled by riveting riffs and beastly blast beats. As the video goes back and forth between the band watching the TV and the survival game at play, the listener is hit with catchy choruses and strong verses. A truly stellar comeback from Trivium and a great first taste of what is in store for April 24th.

April 24th is shaping up to be quite the release day in the scene community. With recent album announcements from The Used, Dance Gavin Dance, and a possible announcement coming from A Day To Remember, Trivium will have some stiff competition.
