Update (20/03/04): Fever 333 have officially released the full song, entitled “Presence Is Strength”! Check it out down below and let us know what you think in the comments.
Yesterday, on March 2nd, Fever 333 went to the studio to record new music and felt compelled to write a song in 24 hours about Super Tuesday. The band encouraged their followers to go ahead and vote, then continued to update their progress in the studio on their Instagram story. The first story began with vocalist, Jason Aalon Butler, explaining the reason behind this impromptu challenge. Butler states, “You have a decision to make. You have the power to make the decision that’s your vote here in America. Let’s use that shit!”
Helping in the studio, as Butler describes “the mother f--king goat,” Blink 182’s Travis Barker and legendary producer/”other goat” John Feldman. Within one day the Super Tuesday single was mastered and ready for release, with only a sneak peek of Jason Aalon Butler tracking the vocals on Instagram with, “Well that’s not what I’m trying to hear/It ain’t what I’m really trying to do/Cause uh/That’s all part of the game/They keep you scared where they keep control of you” and a few seconds of the final master version with Feldman’s dog clearly jamming.
Super Tuesday is extremely important to Americans, as this is the day where many voices go behind a box and attempt to change the course of history. Several bands and popular figures on social media have encouraged their fan base to use their voice to vote. If you are at least 18, it is highly encouraged you vote. If you are not registered, some states have same-day voting registration. You can check if your state allows this here. No matter what happens today, at least we will have awesome music from the likes of legendary punk voices, Fever 333’s new song included.
