Boston Manor announced this past Monday that they would be releasing two new tracks from their upcoming album, GLUE, which is set to be released on May 1st, 2020 through Pure Noise Records. The band had previously released their single, "Everything Is Ordinary", on February 7th, which had mixed reviews from the fans.

The new tracks take two different tones that sound more familiar to the band’s vibe than “Everything Is Ordinary.” Before the release of “On a High Ledge,” Boston Manor highlighted the track on their Instagram saying, “On A High Ledge is a very important song to me. It’s about the way we burn in this idea of what it is to “be a man” into young children & the damage that can cause.”

This song takes on a heavy message that will have an impact on many listeners. The band decided that they wanted people to actually listen to the lyrics and feel the message of the song, so they pushed back the release of their second track, “Ratking”. Boston Manor later posted again about “On a High Ledge” saying, “...we hope this song will help you or someone you know.” If you haven’t listened to the song or have only played it in the background, make sure to take the three and a half minutes to appreciate the message and maybe even take a glance at the music video.

As for “Ratking”, it sounds as though Boston Manor are getting back to their original style. After “Everything is Ordinary” was released, fans weren’t sure what to expect from this band, but it’s with this new track, GLUE is looking to be quite promising. “Ratking” doesn’t hold as large of a message as “On a High Ledge,” but it is something more upbeat, while still having an underlying message.

May 1st can’t come fast enough to see how the band ties all of these new tracks together. GLUE was recorded at The Barber Shop studios in New Jersey and produced by Mike Sapone. Cox says that this album is what Boston Manor has been leading up to. “This is the start of our band finally becoming the band that we want to be.” Cox later says, “The aim of the whole record is to make people angry. It's to make them go ‘Well, this pisses me off, how can I change it? What is one thing that I can personally do – that I can start doing today – to make a difference?’ Because we can do better than this. We just need to start.”

This highly anticipated album is targeted at everyone who has a narrow mindset and the band is hoping to expand some of the singular opinions. Looks like listeners will have to wait and see which problems Boston Manor find most important and how to take action on bettering the world.
