Holding Absence have released “Gravity”, the first single off of their upcoming double a-side single “Gravity/Birdcage” that is due out on April 17th via Sharptone Records.

The limited edition 7” picture disc vinyl will feature both “Gravity” and “Birdcage”, two songs that they had written to be on their sophomore release. It will be limited to 500 copies and can be preordered here.

Vocalist Lucas Woodland says the decision to put out this release came after their US tour got cancelled. “We decided we should make the best of a bad situation and work towards getting it out as soon as possible,” he said. “We're always trying our best as a band to release music as often and unconventionally as possible, so putting out another double-A single release is something we're super excited about, and we can't wait to show people the second track “Birdcage” in the coming weeks.

The track itself is quite beautiful and the video that comes along with it is nothing short of artistic. The timing of the release of this track is almost perfect in a way, because the lyrics almost sound like the situation that the world is going through at the moment. We can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel and it is hard to keep hope but that is all that we can do.

Gravity is pulling me

Your remedies are lost on me

And I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel”
