Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance/Umbrella Academy is giving people a little music to help in these trying times. Gerard has put some of his unreleased music and posted up a COVID-19 Response Fund calling the makeshift release of random songs "Distraction Or Despair", saying it was the feelings he's been feeling through this whole ordeal that has the world in a vice grip.

Available through his Soundcloud, Gerard released a lofty amount he's recorded through the years. He’s also giving fans something to look forward to, as the track "Welcome to the Hotel" is in honor of the Volume 3 Release of "Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion."

New music is a welcome reprieve and shows throughout the years that Gerard has still got it, even going so far as to post a picture of his vocal chords to show the healthy condition they are in for this endeavor. One has to wonder if My Chemical Romance themselves have anything to release in the future, seeing as their entire reunion tour has been left to the ongoing curse of 2020 and the unending amount of cancellations that concerts and events have endured this year.

Thanks to Gerard though, we have something to keep ourselves busy through these times and that's something we can all find solace in.
