Return of the Festivals: Mayhem and Warped Tease 2021 Returns
We could all use something to look forward to right now, and it seems the Mayhem Festival and Vans Warped Tour are giving heavy music fans some reassurance by teasing their comebacks.
Mayhem was slated to return this summer but with the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down public gatherings, it’s obvious the festival won’t be able to relaunch as they had hoped. The official Mayhem Instagram recently confirmed the return of the metal festival is now scheduled for summer 2021.
Fans were sure the Vans Warped Tour was done (for real this time) after the punk/alternative festival held three massive send-off festivals across the U.S. last year. But founder Kevin Lyman is now teasing a comeback. A fan tweeted at Lyman recently, suggesting he revive Warped Tour and Lyman replied, “It might just be called something else.”

As the old saying goes, patience is a virtue. While we may have to suffer through a concert-less summer this year, music fans will surely be holding out hope for 2021. Mayhem Festival last toured the U.S. in 2015 with performers including The Devil Wears Prada, Whitechapel and Thy Art Is Murder. Warped’s final cross-country run was in 2018 with everyone from The Amity Affliction and Ice Nine Kills to Knuckle Puck and Waterparks.
