Bring Me The Horizon, Parkway Drive Among Bands Working On New Material

See this content in the original post

While social distancing comes with its fair share of frustration and loneliness, some would argue it’s been good for artists’ creativity. Lockdown has left everyone with little more than their own thoughts, with a lot of musicians taking the time to write and record. Bands like Bring Me the Horizon, Parkway Drive and Black Veil Brides, among others, have shared bits of information about new albums or songs they’ve been working on. Check out our roundup of bands working on new material below.

Bring Me the Horizon

BMTH has probably been the most transparent with their fans, documenting their recording sessions for their follow-up to 2019’s amo. Fans have latched onto snippets of potential songs and many believe their newest single “Parasite Eve” is dropping soon. Vocalist Oli Sykes confirmed as much with an Instagram post, giving BMTH’s upcoming song a June 10th release date.

Parkway Drive

Parkway Drive vocalist Winston McCall recently confirmed the Australian metalcore band is writing new material. McCall said writing during lockdown actually proved to be more focused as the band isn’t booking tours or working on production or management right now. With the touring world frozen, all they can do is write music. Parkway’s newest album will follow 2018’s Viva The Underdogs.

Black Veil Brides

BVB frontman Andy Biersack gave a big update recently, confirming both new material and a celebration of the band’s debut. BVB’s sixth album is currently in production, with Biersack promising “lots of new music as everyone adjusts to the current global situation.” Biersack also confirmed the band is still working on a 10-year anniversary celebration and re-release of their record We Stitch These Wounds.

Movements

Fans of California post-hardcore heroes Movements have been eagerly awaiting new material since their debut full-length Feel Something in 2017. The band teased an upcoming album plenty before COVID-19 took control of the world, but have recently remained quiet on new material except for an announcement last month. “Before all of this started we had an entire rollout planned,” the band said on their Instagram. “However, all of that has now been put on hold because of the virus.” New music from Movements is definitely on the way, it’s just a matter of sooner or later.

Stand Atlantic

The Australian pop punkers in Stand Atlantic have released a handful of singles over the past few months, leading us to believe they’re up to something. There hasn’t been confirmation from the band on a new album but the band’s official Twitter did say that with each day of lockdown, “we’re 1 day closer to releasin the album. could be years away but still.” We really hope it’s not.
