When coming up with a wedding playlist, it only seems appropriate to add some scene songs into the mix. Even though some people will deny listening to “that kind of music” or didn’t realize that they did, it will remind everyone of some really great tunes. For some, the scene days are not over and will never die, but hopefully if you are getting married, you can go back and cherish some of the ones that will remind you of your scene days.

So, without further ado, here are some of the best scene songs to add to your wedding playlist, along with some appropriate times to play them.

  • “High Hopes” - Panic at the Disco

Though a relatively new song in the scene, it is a perfect song to walk into your reception after the ceremony! High hopes for the living and hopefully for the marriage.

  • “Forever My Father” - Go Radio feat. Erin and Daniel Lancaster

This is perfect for the father-daughter dance that is destined to happen. It is heartfelt, meaningful, and worth a listen if you haven’t heard it already. Even Dad will approve.

  • “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” - Panic! At the Disco

Let’s be honest, you don’t really need a reason to play Panic!, but we’ll give you one. Not only is this song set at an altar, but it is guaranteed to have everyone screaming at the top of their lungs while jumping on the dance floor. Just go for it

  • “If It Means A Lot To You” - A Day To Remember

This is a song for everyone and can be played at any time. As a slow song to be intimate with, a final song of the night, or as the song that plays as you walk down the isle… Literally the skies the limit for this one.

  • “The Only Exception” - Paramore

Everyone can understand why this song is added to this list. Only use this love song if true, deep love exists between you and your significant other. This is a perfect song for the first official married couple dance. Plus, it means you don’t have to twirl around in circles possibly getting depressed from how sappy another song may be. No tears; just smiles.

Songs That Will Get People On the Dance Floor

When at a wedding people tend to gravitate to and from the dance floor often. In order to make sure everyone is showing off their best moves, including those who say they can’t dance, make sure to add these scene songs to your wedding playlist. You will also hear some very off pitch singing with these songs, which honestly counts as a bonus.
