Resident meme kings The Seafloor Cinema have a new track out today and it's bound to turn some heads. The Sacramento based math-rock outfit has released their latest single "Find Yourself" and it's an instrumentally melodic turn for the band. Somewhere between posting absurd content on their social media and getting arrested for breaking curfew supporting folks during recent movements, they created a soundwave that can resonate deep into your soul.

The music video accompanying the latest track brings you into a surreal world of corny talk show hosts with cheesy smiles as the band plays about in the dressing room through a fisheye lens, creating a peephole vibe. You get the feeling of being trapped as the singer Justin Murry downs handfuls of red and yellow pills while he bellows somberly "This is the worst timeline." You can't help but feel trapped with them given the current state of the world.

Producer Dryw Owens (look him up, he's had a hand in all of your favorite band's albums I bet) helps bring the band's festive spirit alive to the quality of this track. This production brings excitement to a band filled with frenzied passion, mixing and mastering them to perfection that allows the band to find themselves as they chew the scenery.

Poppy, drum beats are supplied on the track by Neil Valencia, while sharp riffs from Douglas Anderssen and Anthony OnFire (I'm sure that's his real name) cut through the track like a hot razor wire through butter. Newcomer Seth Lawrenson lays the bass on nice and thick, letting that rhythm drive as the downtrodden lyrics can't stop you from bobbing your head along. 

The song itself is a reference to the Placerville band Find Yourself. This was a great band that managed to score Issac Wilson of Dwellings and Kurt Travis for tracks, an instrumental band that was in the same vein as Polyphia and Animals As Leaders with a stage presence doped up on energetic steroids.  Unfortunately, they joined the ranks of many great bands in the lands of indefinite hiatus. It doesn't just stop there though, Find Yourself members Tim and Jon Punturo contributed lyrics to this song's bridge. Considering the lyrics were written by Geoff Ryder of The Holocene, a Chicago-based MySpace-era band, you have a supergroup-like feel on this track when you marvel at all the talent and star power behind it.
