NYC-based duo Black Satellite recently released “Void,” the gritty new taste of their upcoming album. The song is an ambient and grungy stare into hopelessness, driven by vocalist Larrisa Vale’s rasp and guitarist Kyle Hawken’s eerie, spacey riffs. A guest spot from Luke Holland on drums rounds out the rhythm section.

The band said of the song: “The concept behind ‘Void’ is realizing you’re not heading in the right direction mentally and allowing yourself to be devoured by your darkness anyway, and almost relishing in it. There’s a certain kind of beauty to be found in even the darkest parts of the psyche.”

“Void” is the lead single off the band’s sophomore album. While there’s no title or release date yet, we do know Ben Grosse, who’s worked with everyone from Marilyn Manson to Hollywood Undead to Underoath, produced the record. If “Void” is any indication, it seems there’s a lot of promise for Black Satellite’s next release.
