On August 21st, Thousand Below released their new acoustic EP called Let Go Of Your Love through Rise Records. This EP includes one new song, “let go of your love,” as well as stripped down versions of songs from their latest full-length, Gone In Your Wake

The band are showing a more vulnerable side of their music by releasing this EP. The songs vary from having a stripped down sound to having a more acoustic vibe. The band shares, “We liked the idea of doing a couple songs that were just acoustic guitar and singing, and a couple that were fully electronic to explore that side of the sound we added on Gone In Your Wake." The more acoustic songs on the album include “alone (out of my head)” and “171 xo.” Meanwhile “chemical (feat. Summer Peterson)” and “lost between” are a more slowed down version of the originals.

Their new track, “let go of your love,” that inspired this EP, is a nice slow song that sets the tone for the rest of the EP. The intro is more focused on vocals and creating an introduction for the song and EP, which works in the band’s favor. It is a simple and pleasing slow song and the band explains that "'let go of your love' is about the need to move on from someone who was once the most important person in your life, but won't be part of your future."

Let Go Of Your Love does not have any punch behind the music, because it is a stripped down EP, though it allows listeners to have a more intimate listening experience. Thousand Below used their quarantine time wisely and gave fans a new way to hear some of their favorite tracks in a different light while releasing a heartfelt message that some may be going through, especially during this pandemic.
