REVIEW: Riverview 'Conflate' EP
Montreal-based band Riverview released their debut EP “Conflate” a little less than a month ago and if you’re a fan of anything from the pop-punk genre to post-hardcore you are going to love this EP. Upon first listen, I was hooked. It’s got a classic pop-punk vibe but the young band already seems to have found their own sound within the genre. The guitars are loud, the melodies are on point, and although this is a short EP, the band shows everything that they have to offer. You will not be disappointed. Every song brings something different to the table. If you are a fan of bands such as State Champs, Movements, Knuckle Puck, Slaves and anything in between are going to become obsessed with this band.
The EP kicks off with the high energy track “Feel Alive” and this song shows the band just firing from all angles from the get-go. The vocals are ambitiously right in your face, coupled with loud guitars and the melodies throughout the track that are just so impressive. This is definitely one of my favorite tracks on this short EP. I definitely get State Champs vibes from this track.
They then show their softer side with “Clarity”. The song has such a big chorus and will grasp at your heartstrings. “Who You Are,” which was the first single the band released sounds like a band that has been at it for years. The song is so polished!
This is a must-listen for any fan of pop-punk. Can’t wait to see what this band does next! Let us know what your favorite track on the EP is!
