This year has been a trial of tests. To see how one comes out despite the obstacles that are thrown our way. Life is full of uncertainties, mishaps, and sad misgivings. Ohio alternative/metalcore band Worth The Wait has had more than their fair share of struggle and burdens to bear and have emerged from these ashes bigger and stronger than ever before. Originally consisting of five members in 2011, Worth the Wait would release their first EP Remembrance in 2012. The impressive and refreshing EP would garner them vast amounts of attention that would lead them to play many shows and to even appear at Vans Warped Tour.

So much promise emerged from within the band until tension rifts and line up changes would ultimately arise, leading to a new direction in sound for the band's future. This would lead to the band's single and final 2014 release for the original band, "Overture." Eventually, the band would grow and mature, and their goals and passions would wander to other areas within their lives, leading to disbandment and a short hiatus.

Unsure of where Worth the Wait's future was going to go, founding member Dakota Rose, would work to find new musicians to continue releasing music. This would lead to their last single release, "The Ark" as a fully established band. Life would then take an unexpected turn for the band again, and things would have to be put on hold, unfortunately. Dakota Rose is no stranger to what has been going on within the band and outside of it. But the founding member and Joseph Kovacs have put all their artistic energy into expressing these emotions in their latest work, "BLACKWATER."

"It's been crazy. Life has been crazy," says Rose. But we have no current plans on stopping. Six years ago, we wrote and released "The Ark," which I had written about my firstborn son, Noah. But when it comes time to raise a family, it's hard to balance work, family, and music. So I had to cut back on how much time I was putting towards it. Not long after the release, Joe's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, so he too had something much larger to focus on. We came to a mutual agreement to put things on hold until the time felt right. Finally, the time feels right, And we're more zestful with life than ever. The music we're writing will show you just that."

"BLACKWATER" is a vocally thunderous track that's overflowing with resplendent ethereal elements that then immediately cuts through with impressive percussive zeal and sharp guitar lines that engulf the entire atmosphere of the track from start to finish. Worth the Wait stressed the need to come back on top of their game, and boy did they ever. While "BLACKWATER" is explosive and raw throughout with its lyricism and instrumental divulgence, Worth The Wait is not concerning themselves with rushing to the big leagues just yet with all the other artists in the scene.

"We're currently in the beginning stages of the band per-say," Rose finishes. As in returning, we don't want to rush anything at all and end up kicking ourselves because of it. It takes a lot of time, effort, and resources to write, record, produce and push. We just want to get it right this time around."
