Most artists like to consider their work as an extension of themselves. For the selfless, caring, emerging solo act COMPUNCTION, it's more than just an artistic extension of himself. He considers his work a variegated piece that is constantly changing. COMPUNCTION has always prided himself on doing things a bit differently. As his latest track debut, "ENEMIES," will prove, he's okay with doing this slightly off the books.

"The whole idea behind COMPUNCTION is it being a constant work in progress, changing, and evolving over time. To me this is a reflection of our nature as people and life in general - nothing stays quite the same for too long. The good times don't last forever, but neither do the bad - it is a constant ebb and flow of circumstances and emotions. Somewhere out there is acceptance of it and, I assume, a greater sense of peace. I hope COMPUNCTION can help people on their way towards it, just like it does for me."

In many ways, he would be right. When listening to his new track "ENEMIES," it's a pensive lyrical experience that kaleidoscopically changes instrumentally. It's neither denuded nor heavy in its forthcomingness, it just is. COMPUNCTION, in many ways, tries to bridge the gap between soft and heavy elements, and in this way, it works wonderfully. But "ENEMIES" is not just about fundamentally breaking the rules musically to create something intrinsically pleasing to the ears, "ENEMIES dives a bit further than that.

"'ENEMIES," with that in mind, deals partially with that sense of dread-of something eventually going wrong. For instance, a fear of ruining a relationship with your emotional baggage. The looming presence in the dark corners of the room that is one's mind that, for me, is never too far away even when everything is more or less okay."

While COMPUNCTION has all the inner makings of being a whole band, he is not concerning himself at the moment with making a full band dynamically for the time being.

"At this stage, COMPUNCTION is really more of a solo musical entity rather than a band - I think at this stage I have more in common with solo artists and how they operate. This might very well change at some point-he expresses, but at this stage I AM COMPUNCTION. I will definitely have a live band and it's something I am actively working on putting together behind the scenes."
