When it comes to fast-food restaurants, Wendy’s is no stranger to knowing what’s going on within the scene. The popular fast-food chain is notoriously known for its quick witty roasts and sassy remarks on Twitter. While the chain slays both the burger and social media game, they also have proven to be quite the scene kids. In their repertoire, the social media manager for Wendy’s has parodied lyrics to The Anthem to Good Charlotte, shared their love for Machine Gun Kelly, and personally my favorite--roasted Attack Attack!

Fans went all over Twitter, asking the social media account their thoughts on bands, all the while wondering which former scene kid was running their social media. The former was not the case though, as Lauryn Schaffner, who manages Wendy's social media, name-dropped and showed approval for several long time scene staples and new pop-punk powerhouses. Said bands included The Wonder Years, All Time Low, Grayscale, The Early November, State Champs, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me, and Meet Me @ The Altar. To our excitement, the scene mentions did not stop in October.

Yesterday afternoon, Wendy’s tweeted “It’s almost time to #wakeandbaconate. Join us live with @MMATAband on Monday 12/21 at 12 pm ET. Set your reminders now!” As if playing a G note, Schaffner was able to once again unite the scene, engaging and enticing fans by bringing a breakthrough pop-punk powerhouse to their “stage”. This coming Monday, Meet Me @ The Altar will be going live on Twitch with music, a Q&A session, and as Wendy’s puts it “with six strips of bacon, egg, cheese, and sausage.” Fans are urged to tweet out #WakeandBaconate to either request a song and/or ask the band a question.

Meet Me @ The Altar have recently been busy making their mark on both the music scene and scene history. From securing a spot on Chicago’s Riot Fest to being the first all-female Black and Latinx band to sign to Fueled By Ramen, a major label within the pop-punk scene, the band has just started to pick up speed. They have quite the Spotify discography, including two EP's and some bangin’ singles, including their newest release, "Garden." I don't know about you, but I'm personally excited to chow down on a Breakfast Baconator and listen to these blossoming luminaries at noon (EST) this Monday, December 21. Until then, feel free to stream Meet Me @ The Altar on all streaming platforms.
