Yesterday, December 29, As It Is announced the departure of longtime drummer, Patrick Foley. Foley, an original and founding member of UK punk rock anomalies As It Is decided to chase one of his dreams full force, quitting the band to become a firefighter. The band went to social media to break the news to their fanbase, a tweet reading:

"Our brother and friend @foley_as_it_is has decided to step back from As It Is, to pursue a brand new career as a firefighter.

We could not be more proud of him (and are keeping him on speed dial for when we next use pyro in a live show)

All love,

Patty, Ali, Ronnie x"

In the video attached, Foley mentioned, "This is the only other thing I've ever wanted to do beside playing drums. If I ever was to join a profession this would be the profession for me." Some fans feared that with the departure of both Benjamin Langford-Biss and Patrick Foley, As It Is might break apart. Fear not, the UK pop-punk staples confirmed this would not be happening, replying to a fan stating, "There’s zero chance of us breaking up, and tbh what we have planned for you for 2021 should have you suuuuper excited."

Currently, the band has two original members left, Alistair Testo and Patty Walters, with Ronnie Ish joining As It Is later on in January of 2019. From saving lives with music to saving lives from fires and other emergencies, we wish Patrick Foley and As It Is the absolute best in their future endeavors.
