5 Tours You Need to Check Out This October
Here are 5 essential shows to add to your calendar this October. See you in the pit!
Wildlife+1 Tour
Featuring La Dispute, Sweet Pill, Pictoria Vark
Post-hardcore heroes La Dispute are celebrating the (belated) 10th anniversary of their quintessential record Wildlife by playing it in full on their current North American tour. After attending the Toronto date, I can confidently say this is a must-see event, and luckily there’s still plenty of the tour left to go; they will be playing through the US all month leading up to their performance at When We Were Young fest. Vocalist/lyricist Jordan Dreyer is an absolute force on stage and this group’s loyal fanbase goes wild for every single song on this devastating and intricately crafted record. After playing all of Wildlife, La Dispute treats fans to an encore set that includes a fan favourite as a setlist staple and then a random collection of other great songs from throughout their discography. Supporting acts Sweet Pill and Pictoria Vark are indie emo acts that open the night with a punch, with Sweet Pill bringing a chaotic energy that is bound to rile up the crowd in advance of their beloved headliner.
Post Human USA Tour
Featuring Bring Me The Horizon, Knocked Loose*, grandson*, siiickbrain*
*Featured on all dates except festival performances
Bring Me are also touring the US on their way to When We Were Young fest, with this being their first full American tour in 3 years. The British metalcore giants have continued to gain more mainstream crossover appeal in those years (hello, Ed Sheeran collaboration) and experiment with their sound while still being planted in the scene and maintaining heavy elements in their songs. They are bringing along an all-star cast of openers that reflect the band’s roots in heavy music and their later years working with various alt styles.
The Turnstile Love Connection Tour
Featuring Turnstile, Snail Mail, JPEGMAFIA*, and special guests*
*Featured on select dates
The unbelievable level of success that Turnstile achieved as a hardcore band with their 2021 record Glow On is tough to overstate. After selling out every single date of their North American tour earlier this year, they’re back for another round this fall so that everyone suffering from major FOMO after missing out the first time around can experience this explosive group at their peak. They will be joined by indie rock singer Snail Mail and experimental hip-hop icon JPEGMAFIA, making for a striking and eclectic lineup. As stated on “NO SURPRISE” and many times in reference to this band: “You really gotta see it live to get it.”
True Power Tour
Featuring I Prevail, Pierce The Veil, Fit For A King, Stand Atlantic*, and Yours Truly*
*Featured on select dates
This stacked tour kicked off on September 9th in Asbury Park, NJ and runs through all of October, then comes to an end on November 23rd in Detroit, MI. Whether it’s Fit For A King gearing up for the release of their 7th full length The Hell We Create, the first live shows from Pierce The Veil in 5 years, or the headliners in I Prevail coming hot off the heels of the release of their 3rd full length True Power, there’s a lot to be desired from this star-studded lineup. Ticket are moving fast, so get yours while you can!
Enemy Of The World Celebration Tour
Featuring Four Year Strong, Knuckle Puck, Microwave, and Youth Fountain
Easycore legends Four Year Strong are celebrating their 4th and fan favourite album Enemy Of The World by playing it in full across North America this fall. Along with the 11-track album, fans can also expect to hear some new tracks from Knuckle Puck, who released their Disposable Life EP earlier this year.
