Artist Spotlight: False Witness

If False Witness aren’t on your radar yet then you are sorely missing out. False Witness plant their feet solidly on the heavy metal end of the metalcore spectrum, at times even bordering on death metal. While they are a band local to the Utah scene where I call home, I think that they truly have the potential to expand their reach to a much larger, much broader audience, and that is the exact term I would use to describe this band: POTENTIAL. From their earliest material to their newest releases it is crystal clear they have had the “It Factor” all along, they only needed to put in the work and to hone their sound to come into something both unique and unforgettable. With their new single “King Rat”, False Witness are proving to have done just that. Crushing brutality, grim and poignant lyricism, exquisite guitarwork, this new song has it all in spades and I can’t wait to hear the remainder of their upcoming EP Plagueborn soon. But while we all wait I would highly recommend checking out their existing body of work, including the songs “Out of Ruin”, “Hand of God”, “In the Company of Snakes”, “Black Masts”, and “Truth Dies With a Severed Tongue” from their previous albums as they are also certified bangers.
