When it comes to rock bands like Crashing Atlas, music delivery on a multi-dimensional level is something they have always done right and taken pride in. Since Crashing Atlas started their journey back in 2018, they dazzled their way into our hearts with their smash single "Monster." This track not only put them on the map in the scene as a contender for talented bands in the current scene but also showed that you didn't have to be an all-male band to fit the mold of solid technique or greatness within the rock genre.

This momentum would propel them forward with their next single, "The Light." Unbeknownst to us, this would manifest the instrumental and lyrical creation of their hard-hitting, unique release Black Sky Sunrise. Made throughout the quarantine of 2020, this would not only mark the new era of Crashing Atlas, but like a phoenix, they would raise from the ashes of an emotional and tragic time for a lot of us and make something beautiful, raw, and inspiring.

To say that Crashing Atlas has done the work and time to deliver an engaging listening experience is an understatement. Lyrical and instrumental gems that come firing through Black Sky Sunrise are "Who Are You Now." With atmospheric, punchy percussive soundscapes that coat the track from start to finish and intense lyricism, it shows Crashing Atlas' growth as a band for the past three years.

Other tracks that take center stage on the album are the gorgeous lyrics and vocal control in "Wake Up." While the instrumental fortitude is equally as impressive, it is the vocal tenacity that takes the attention on this track this time, and honestly, most people will not have a problem with this as the flow is so infectious and entertaining.

We then come to "Temporary," an unrivaled denuded experience that sets its self apart from the others by feeling stripped down but at the same time doesn't lose its place on the energy scale when it comes to placement on the album. From start to finish it's a potent and fascinating listening experience that should not be missed.

Black Sky Sunrise is an album that deals out emotionally heavy-hitting lyricism while at the same adding in some beautifully done atmospheric soundscapes, gutwrenching guitar riffs, and gorgeous percussive cadence. It's an album that shows growth at a time of uncertainty many were afraid of change, but from the darkness, Crashing Atlas brought to light understanding to those who needed it most with this new release, and in this way, this album succeeds.
