dead7 Release Pissed Off Anthem for Heavy Music Fans

Fresh off the heels of the release of their debut single “unwanted”, St. Louis metalcore act dead7 have released their highly anticipated second single “bite it” across streaming platforms. In contrast to the flourishing electronic elements of “unwanted”, dead7 lean entirely on their aggressive side to fuel the pissed off anthem that is “bite it”, and instant add to any heavy music playlist.

It’s not however a pissed off anthem without a cause. “bite it” is a direct call-out to the predatory behaviour women experience on a daily basis. “We wanted a really aggressive contrast from our first release "unwanted," says the band. “The content of this song focuses on the fact that we're pissed off that women constantly have to think about their safety when doing normal everyday tasks: walking to the store, going to work, or even just spending time with their friends. So we're sending a message to those predators and creeps: you will get what's coming to you.

Musically, dead7 bring a classic hardcore mentality to a modern style of heavy music, citing influences in Spiritbox and Fox Lake. “Our main musical influences include Spiritbox, Loathe, and Fox Lake.” They continue, “We really love the modern elements that Spiritbox and Loathe bring to the metalcore genre, while Fox Lake has the aggressive, hardcore attitude that we also want to embody with our music.” Influences aside, “bite it” is a truly mosh-inspiring angry anthem that keeps listeners begging for more from this band.

dead7 have confirmed 2 more singles will be releasing this summer, with even more being developed in the studio as we speak. Be sure to check out the official music video for “bite it” below and follow dead7 wherever you get music, so you don’t miss the fiery releases on the way.
