Father Deer Hands Share Emotive Post-Hardcore Single “Sunlight Dance”

Sydney-based band Father Deer Hands have shared the first taste of their debut EP with impressive single “Sunlight Dance.” The Australian group’s sound is a cross between the mathy emo of bands like Tiny Moving Parts and the spirited post-hardcore of bands like Being As An Ocean, culminating in an aggressive yet bright tune. The song’s kinetic energy is infectious, and its riffs are certain to excite fans of technical guitar work. Harsh vocals from vocalist Matthew Betmalik evoke the challenging nature of major life shifts and relationships that come and go. Betmalik outlines the feelings expressed in the track: “As a kid it's easy to get stuck in the mentality that things will always be as they are. In reality it's never that simple, things change and life doesn't slow down for anything. I guess this is just a song to say that even though things are different to what we'd planned, I wish every piece of my past the best. It's all love, regardless.”

Sunlight Dance” is out now and the full EP Sad Souls Don't Float Upstream will be released October 7th!
