FURETY RELEASE BRUTAL NEW EP ‘INHUMAN NATURE’
Furety’s debut release Inhuman Nature has been three years in the making since the band’s inception in their home city of Perth, Australia. These songs give a voice for the voiceless through themes of animal cruelty and systemic oppression towards minority groups. Current serious issues around the world today such as genocide and war, starvation, inequality and corporate corruption are all horrific things they use our music to advocate against.
Lead single, “Mauled By Man,” followup single, “Cognitive Dissonance,” and last single, “Chained To War,” demonstrate the range of heavy music styles they adopt and are a clear representation of what they sound like and are about.
Musically, Furety have a core value to make the heaviest music they possibly can, but keep it simple and prioritize groove and feel over technicality. They take influences from Kublai Khan, Thrown, Knocked Loose and Bodysnatcher, with their vocals reminscent of Will Ramos and Dickie Allen.
There are various styles of modern heavy music displayed on this release. Relentless slams and blistering out-of-nowhere breakdowns and rhythmic variations in “Cranium” and “Flood Gate” will shock the ear while other sections focus on bouncing grooves and energetic two-steps beats as in “Cognitive Dissonance” and “Chained To War.”
On other tracks like “Sirens,” “Flood Gate” and “Chained To War,” you’ll hear a more melodic influence similar to Spiritbox. They adopt more personal lyrical themes of abuse and manipulation.
There’s something for everyone on this release all the while staying consistent in its themes and musical styles. Respect existence or expect resistance.
