Graves End Blast Onto the Scene With Debut Single “crown of Bones”
What happens when you mix Horizons era Parkway Drive with Deadweight era Wage War? You get the punishingly heavy new track “Crown of Bones” by metalcore newcomers Graves End. Toss in a fiery feature from Chris Roetter of Like Moths To Flames on the reworked “Crown of Bones II”, and you have one of the most impressive debut’s of 2021.
Composed of vocalist Johnny Marmora and guitarist/vocalist John Purcell, Graves End have made an astounding introduction to the scene with their debut release. From the blasting percussive introduction filled with deep gutturals to the anthemic nature of the melodic chorus, “Crown of Bones” is an instant hit among metalcore fans. Bringing Chris Roetter into the mix for “Crown of Bones II” was a no-brainer, and a perfect fit for the intense instrumentals throughout. “We reached out to Chris Roetter of Like Moths to Flames because he had been an inspiration to us for many years now,” says Marmora. “We loved the old metalcore sound from 2007-2011, and wanted to pay tribute to it with this track. Chris adds such a menacing feel to the already ‘in your face’ track. Our goal was to give the listener something that they can enjoy from beginning to end.”
Taking inspiration from a variety of metalcore legends, Graves End have their sights set on a successful career in the industry. “Our future for the band looks great.” Marmora continues, “Taking inspiration from bands such as Wage War, Memphis May Fire, and We Came As Romans, we feel like we have a modern day metalcore style but can also be reminiscent of that earlier era with bands such as Parkway Drive, Bring Me The Horizon and Like Moths To Flames.” With such a strong introduction, the band has plenty to live up to with their following releases, which we should expect quite soon. “We have already tracked our upcoming song and we are just waiting for the right time to release it. The plan is to release 5 singles that will eventually be compiled into an EP release. We love making music and we love giving people the same feeling we get when we stumble upon a band that stands out from the rest.”
