Milk St. Release Quirky Coming-of-Age Track “China Town”

Take a bunch of indie rock styles, mix in a little bluegrass, and filter it through the lens of a psychedelic drug trip: you might end up with something that sounds like the new Milk St. song. “China Town” is the latest release from the Bangor, Maine-based band, serving as the lead single for their upcoming EP Vermont.

The track reflects influence from prominent singer-songwriter Alex G and folk punk / Midwest emo duo The Front Bottoms. In the words of vocalist Jonah Wakefield, “’China Town’ is a song about coming of age and steeping yourself in what truly makes you, you at a very fragile point of your life. It’s about finding out exactly who you are and embracing the uncomfortable in pursuit of self discovery. It’s also about doing mushrooms with your cousin’s dog.”

Listen to “China Town” on streaming services here and keep an eye out for its music video which is set to come out very soon!
