Resin Lung Drop Debut EP ‘Genesee Ave’ & Single “Misdirection”

You’re driving down the interstate, windows down, navigating the open highway as a warm, summer breeze and vibrant sun rays wash over your skin. There’s only one thing missing: the perfect road trip soundtrack.

Turning on the radio, you encounter only white noise static with every change of the station. You hook up your phone to the stereo with an auxiliary cable and scroll through your music library, in search of the best selection. An EP tracklisting catches your eye. Perfect. You hit play and the speakers resound with distorted guitar riffs. The stereo screen displays the music that’s currently lingering in the air; “Now Playing - Artist: Resin Lung, Album: Genesee Ave.”

“Hickory smoked rock n’ roll” best describes the sounds of San Diego band Resin Lung. The members describe their music as ‘positive vibes from negative minds.’

On July 7th, the band released their debut EP Genesee Ave, featuring the hit single “Misdirection.”

Tracklisting:

01 Hagridden

02 Lock & Key

03 Relapse

04 Undertow

05 Oblivion

06 Misdirection

Produced by Stone Blind Media, the “Misdirection” music video showcases the infectious melodies and harmonies of Resin Lung, as the band head-bang and intensely play their instruments. The Six Under Golf movement even makes a special cameo appearance as RL front-man Vaughn Blesser adorns a black hoodie (“Disrupt the industry!”)

Lens flare special effects embellish the gritty visuals. Song lyrics intermittently flash (“Soul Suicide / Self Genocide”) as a camera pans across multiple locations: a dark-lit room, a side terrace, and the roof of a structure backlit with a blue sky.

Resin Lung will be playing their first show Saturday, August 7th, at SOMA San Diego with The Grinns, Tina Fake, The Go Heads, and Cardboard Boxer.
