Review: Attila "Clarity"

See this content in the original post

Fridays have always been a day for excitement, giving way to the weekend to ensue; however, March 19th was a little more exciting than usual. The pre-weekend day saw the release of a massive amount of new music and the cherry on top came from none other than, Attila (and who doesn’t love new Attila for the weekend). Known for their carefree attitude and outrageous themes, they’ve become a staple in not just the party side of the metal genre, but have been given the title as Meme Lords.

Back in May of 2020, Attila had released a song entitled “Cancelled,” stating that their new album was finished and recorded; but that was all we got. Jumping to last Friday, they followed the previous year's single with a title-track “Clarity”. The track opens up with one of their finest chugs, devastating drum fills, and an electronic influence to real rope you in. After reaching the first verse, it sets the stage for the band's classic, punishing sound; with Fronz’s fast-paced rap style upfront, the double-kick drums seeming as if they were gunshots, and an almost demonic sounding pinch harmonics. Punchy bridges and catchy choruses wrap up the rest of the single as a tightly packaged teaser for what’s to come this year.

As far as new albums go, not much more has been divulged. Following the drop of “Clarity”, Fronz had also come out with a statement that gave us the LP’s name; Clarity, Closure, and that 2021 will hold the release. One thing that is for sure, is that the new album will be jam-packed with killer songs, including “Cancelled” and “Clarity”.
