The Comfort Release Triumphant New Single Ahead of Sophomore Album
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again; there’s something in the Australian water that produces some of the finest musicians the alternative music scene has to offer. A statement that holds true for The Comfort, an Australian alternative rock outfit that have released a triumphant new single “Supernova” featuring AJ Perdomo of The Dangerous Summer. It’s the third single, following up “Love Is A Dying Plant” and “Conformist”, off their forthcoming sophomore album ‘Experience Everything. Live And Die.’ due out November 11th.
“Supernova” is a slight departure from the heavier edge put forth on a track like “Conformist,” but it’s an honest recount of life’s struggles that is simultaneously though-provoking and empowering. Whether it’s the booming anthemic chorus, the callback to Oasis’ classic “Champagne Supernova,” or the incredibly fitting feature, there’s something for everyone to latch onto with this offering.
Singer and songwriter Liam Holmes put every ounce of passion and soul into “Supernova” and it shows in the introspective nature of the lyrics. "Supernova is about living a conscious life,” says Holmes. “It’s about making hard choices for a better future that is true to who you really are, not letting things outside of yourself dictate your path, and experiencing the full spectrum of emotions even when they’re challenging. It was written during a difficult time where numerous things in my life were falling apart all at once. I knew I could either seek distractions and not change or sit with everything I was feeling, let it break me apart and trust myself that I could rebuild my life.”
The Comfort’s ‘Experience Everything. Live And Die.’ will consist of 12 tracks and include an additional feature from Dylan Davidson of Deadlights. Pre-orders are now available for the album. In the meantime, be sure to check out the official music video for “Supernova” via Dreambound.
