Review: The Maine 'You Are Okay'

The Maine

The Maine

The Maine cannot release a bad album and I cannot be convinced otherwise. You Are Ok, their 9th studio album, was released on the 29th of March and I have had it on a loop since it came out (like I have will all of their albums in the past). The songs are absolutely stellar, even with the somewhat strange new direction The Maine have chosen to take them in. They have always been one of those bands that have captivated me with their music. It’s obvious the band has chemistry. The fact that they can still produce music like this after a decade of being a band, is something I am in awe of.

The first song released off of the album ‘Numb Without You’ was released back in January. The wait wasn't too long for the album. The song is one of my favorites off of the album; as much as I hate saying I love a single.

Other notable tracks would have to be ‘Slip the Noose’. It has ridiculously amazing guitars, and for being an incredibly solid opening track for an album. The closing track, ‘Flowers On The Grave’, was also one I had on a loop for a while there. Even though there were a few points there where I was a little lost in the middle of the album, I’m glad that they had a solid closer and opener.  Because let’s face it, many people are only ever paying attention to those two songs.

Catch them on tour this spring throughout the U.S and U.K! Get tickets and check out the dates here!
