Following a slew of lineup changes, Volumes have officially announced the return of ex-vocalist Michael Barr and released a punishing new single “holywater”. In their current incarnation, Volumes consists of Michael Barr and Myke Terry on vocals, Raad Soudani on bass, and Nick Ursich on drums, with guitarist Diego Farias having recently left the band.

With a short tangly guitar intro that explodes into a relentless surge of huge and heavy guitar patterns, accompanied by quick rapacious percussion elements, the newly released track suggests that it's just as much about the removal of past discrepancies as it is the band getting back together as a unit to create genuine art.

Regardless of how anyone feels about the situation, what can be said is that this is a new and exciting start for the band as a whole, which will result in a new breed of raw and exciting instrumental and lyrical experiences.

Michael Barr will also be involved in the upcoming European/UK tour with Born Of Osiris, Oceans Ate Alaska, and Defying Decay.
