Recently, there has been a lot of hype surrounding Halsey and Bring Me the Horizon collaborating on a new song, “Experiment on Me,” for Birds of Prey: The Album. Listeners are now able to hear the new track and it is edgy! It’s not the collaboration that many were hoping for; since, only Halsey is featured in the song vocally, but instead Bring Me the Horizon’s own Oliver Sykes and Jordan Fish helped write and produce.

Fans have been teased with this collaboration for a long time coming! Previously, the artists have shared images on their social media about how they were in the studio together, hinting at the collaboration. Just yesterday, Fish posted “out now-ish,” letting fans panic as to where they could hear the song for the first time. Halsey first made an official appearance with Bring Me the Horizon on their recent EP, Music to listen to~, providing guest vocals on the song, “¿”.

In more recent posts, it was revealed that Halsey had “screaming” parts on the new track, and she did not disappoint! In a way, Halsey sounds like a female version of Bring Me the Horizon’s vocalist, Oli Sykes. Her screaming parts at the end of the song have hints of his style, which makes sense after knowing they produced this new single.

The song was introduced into the film during a fighting scene in a jail. Oddly enough, this song fit perfectly with the action in the scene and gave more attitude to Harley Quinn. There was definitely a lot of girl power going on, not only in this scene, but in the film as a whole.

It is unfortunate in some respects that Bring Me the Horizon isn’t recognized for their involvement in this song on the soundtrack, though it was to be expected. This song didn’t have the full collaboration vocally and musically that some were hoping for, but the artists are credited for the song; which you will see if you are willing to wait through all of the credits. Also, if anyone has been paying attention to the buildup around this new song, Bring Me the Horizon was definitely in the loop.
