NVision Put Sexual Assault Victims First With Release of New Single "She Said"

Mississippi-based modern rock band NVision are staying strong in 2020 with the release of their latest single “She Said”. The band has been described as “rock music that is emotionally charged with a positive message”, and that could not be more apparent on “She Said”.

With just an EP and a few singles to their name, NVision embodies a powerful sound and message that typically only comes with years of experience honing your craft. Their 2019 EP, Reflections of a Broken Soul, has amassed more than 32,000 streams of Spotify, and while elements of rock were present, there was a greater influence from the EDM and hip-hop realms. This latest single puts forth a much more polished sound, led by clean riffs, while retaining the bouncy electronic elements found on earlier material.

NVision reels you in with an extremely catchy chorus, but it’s only when you focus on the lyrical content that you understand how deep their message actually is. “She’s giving up now, she wasn’t strong enough to push you off now, and though it’s not her fault, I know.” Dealing with sexual assault and the turmoil associated with such an incident, there is a stark contrast between the subject matter and the upbeat nature of chorus, possibly representing the tendency of victims to “put on a smile”, while feeling much different inside. An underlying frustration is present throughout the entirety of the song, and this comes to a head at the ~2:08 mark, where NVision embraces a heavier side with a welcomed screamed section. Transitioning flawlessly back into the signature chorus of this track, this band has found a sound that suits them very well.

NVision are using their platform to give a voice to victims of sexual assault, when they may not be able to do so themselves. Not only are they standing up for victims, but they’re actively contributing to helping victims in any way they can. They’re partnering with local organizations (see below) for the release of “She Said”, with 20% of all proceeds going towards combatting sexual assault and aiding victims.
