Desert Island - Band Discography

Tyler Johnson - Bring Me The Horizon

While I often credit A Day to Remember as my favorite band of all time, if I were stuck on a deserted island I would be turning to a band with an extremely diverse discography. For that reason, Linkin Park and Bring Me The Horizon are the bands that immediately come to mind. Bring Me The Horizon edge out Linkin Park though, as I have been enamored with every one of their releases, for one reason or another. Whether it’s their deathcore roots on Count Your Blessings or the experimental rock on Amo - not to mention three pinnacle metalcore records in Suicide Season, There Is A Hell…, and Sempiternal - they have a sound to fit every mood.

Andy Katz - American Football

I’d imagine that being trapped on a deserted island would be a very emotional experience for me. Without a doubt, I would have the entire American Football discography. They only really have 3 full-length’s and 2 EP’s, but this band has meant a lot to me for over 15 years (since high school). I’ve cried to all of these records, and I am absolutely sure that I will cry while trying to find food and taking long walks along the beach, wondering if I’ll ever get back home. These records have just enough energy and emotion to cover almost all my moods (not really trying angry mosh amongst the palm trees by myself, to be honest). These records would be a constant reminder of hope and nostalgia.

Hana Belanger - Set It Off

Choosing one band is near impossible; however, if I absolutely had to choose only one band's discography, it would have to be Set It Off. Throughout 3 EP’s and 4 LP’s, Set It Off has created their own genre in a sense. From synth pop-rock to cinematic goth-rock, it is safe to say this band has explored it all. I love how there is a song for every mood. Angry? Listen to "Hypnotized" and "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing". Need a chill pick me up? "Happy All The Time" and "Life Afraid" will do you justice. Need a reminder to keep strong? Listen to "You Are Loved" on repeat until the calm settles in. High School was a rough time period for multiple reasons, but the one band that kept me pushing forward was Set It Off. While it still surprises me that I made it out alive, I am not surprised that my cap read a Set It Off lyric, "We're the authors of our lives, tomorrow."

Audrey Caron - The Maine

It is hard to choose just one band’s discography to bring on a deserted island, but I think I would choose The Maine. They are the band who helped me gain confidence when my self-esteem was at an All Time Low, and who inspired me to pursue my dreams. Their music means a lot to me and if it weren’t for them I wouldn’t have seen that there is indeed a light at the end of the tunnel and that you can only pursue your dreams when you step out of your comfort zone. They remind me that I am not alone and I know that I would need that more than ever if I were trapped on a deserted island.

Samantha Andujar - New Found Glory

New Found Glory has always been a favorite band that has stood the test of time as one of the best pop-punk bands of all time. So it would come as no surprise as to why I would choose this band’s discography to bring onto a deserted island. Each album is instant gold and is impossible to get bored with. New Found Glory has consistently excelled at delivering a classic pop-punk sound, without being afraid to bring new, honest music into the mix at the same time. They have so much to offer and energy to keep you invested with each record that it’s hard not to have them on your island adventures.
