Review: Native State "Soil"

Up and coming alternative/new-age grunge solo act Native State has dropped an impressive new single, "Soil." Drawing inspiration from bands such as Balance and Composure, Basement, and Jimmy Eat World, Native State has come into the music scene to make a unique name for itself. Native State started as self-medication with music after Wayne Fau fell into a dark depression towards the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020. Now Fau wants to emerge this year with a fresh start, writing music that is different from his previous band's Homecoming and Lifelike.

"Soil" artfully blends the best of both of these musical influences and styles with entrancing atmospheric guitar licks, poignantly self-aware lyricism, mesmerizing vocals, and crisp percussive elements that are engaging from start to finish. Though this project was meant to be therapeutic for Fau, It's clear that sometimes the things that have helped us cope along the way can flower into bigger and brighter things. Wayne Fau has this to say about the current track and project.

"Right now I have about a dozen songs in the works, and I’m excited for everybody to hear my story through these songs. Fortunately, I have had great support from some of my closest friends helping me in the music video. Kevin Kerestes from Backwordz, Jayden Mermella from Finding September, and Brett Stokes from my band Homecoming (who also engineered and mixed the song). Having all these guys with me was a blessing."
