Review: RIVALS "Lavenders"

Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, dark pop-rock band RIVALS are changing the genre game right now with their latest single release, "Lavenders." Formed back in 2014 by vocalist Katie Wolfe, bassist Sebastian Clarke, guitarist Mickett Woodle, and Drummer Josh Alves, RIVALS are planning to take over the pop-rock genre with their intestinal fortitude, magnetic vocals, and captivating instrumental sound. Outside of their vocal and instrumental talent, the band's unique prepossessing songwriting technique has caught the ears of many as well.

Since the release of their EP Haunted/Hunted in 2015, the EP's success has garnered scads amounts of attention, allowing them to tour with great acts such as The Red Jump Suit Apparatus, Story Untold, and Assuming We Survive. Also, they have shared the stage with various bands such as The Word Alive, UnderOath, August Burns Red, and Oceans Ate Alaska. Their all-powerful performances and unique presence has earned them partnerships with MEE Audio, Sennheiser, SJC Drums, and TRX Cymbals. With the band still glistening with their successes of the first 2018 LP Damned Soul via Smart Punk Records, this only the beginning of their early success and the fruitful future they have on the horizon.

"Lavenders" combines the infectious, well-known aspects of pop music yet maintains the flavors of strength and tenebrosity of rock. There are a lot of multigenre bands that want to make their way to the top, but RIVALS is quickly making their mark. With their unforgettable dreamy sound, they are sure to grab lots of pop-rock fan's attention.
