Las Vegas-based hard rock outfit Alura have released their debut self-titled EP, featuring hit new single “The Edge Pt. I”. Formerly known as We Gave It Hell, the band has decided to start fresh with a new name and an updated sound, which has certainly been working for them given they’ve already managed to gain over 13,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Alura’s debut single “Counterfeit”, the introductory track to the EP, is a melodic onslaught of heavy aggression, while maintaining a sing-along quality to their chorus - making it an instant hit. Taking influence from a wide range of artists, including Architects, Deftones, and even Justin Timberlake, one can see where the balance between the heavy and the catchy stems from.

With regards to lyrical themes, the EP ranges from dealing with the ongoing pandemic to standing up for what you believe in. “The themes of the EP range from many different experiences I've had over the course of the last two years,” says vocalist Taylor Adsit. “From dealing with fakeness of people on the internet, to standing up for myself and what I believe in, love & loss, and being your own worst enemy, I'm hopeful that a lot of people can relate to these songs.”

While the Alura EP has given fans plenty to sink their teeth into, it is just the beginning of what’s to come from this rising band. “Our plans for the future are hopefully to continue what we were doing before the pandemic and get back to playing shows and touring the country again.” Adsit continues, “We are eager to get back out there, but only when it is safe enough to do so. This EP is just the beginning for us and the quarantine offered us a unique opportunity to work on more music than we ever have before. We will definitely be releasing more music in 2021. We appreciate everyone who has been supporting us in anyway during these strange and uncertain times.”
