Ex-members of The Faceless and The Black Dahlia Murder have joined forces to create a new project that’s just as heavy as their former bands. Shared Trauma is a newly-formed outfit out of Los Angeles, with their debut song “Radiant Prison” out on Bandcamp.

The song draws influence from old-school hardcore and black metal, as well as combining melodic- and technical death metal elements from the musicians’ previous projects. It’s a swift, brutal attack that wastes no time.

Derek Rydquist (The Faceless) handles vocals, while his former bandmates Brandon Giffin and Michael Sherer round out bass and lead guitar, respectively. Ryan Williams (ex-Black Dahlia Murder) helms production and guitar, with John Thomas rounding out the lineup on drums. Their first song displays a lot of promise from the newly-formed group and we hope to see more from Shared Trauma soon.
