Now that we have approached a new year, Deathcore seems to be also turning over a new leaf. Fuller sounds, more aggression, and the blending of more atmospheric elements to create something more engaging and original. Looking at the new up-and-coming Ukrainian deathcore band Detestor, this seems to be the case with their relentless and cyclopean new single "The Abysswalker," featuring Dan Watson from Enterprise Earth.

With massively intense guitar riffs, passionately ruthless screams, and lightning-like percussive energy throughout, it's impossible to not feel awakened after just one listens to this track. With two other singles already nestled tightly in their belts, the band is already getting in gear to finish writing their debut album. The band has this to say about the new single.

"The artwork and the lyrics drew inspiration from the Dark Souls video game. The song talks about the last minutes leading up to Artorias’ life, illustrating the process of his enslavement by darkness."

For fans of Aversions Crown, Infant Annihilator, and Lorna Shore, this is the single you will want to add to your current playlist.
