Alpine Loop Kick Off 2022 With Infectious Cover of “Mood”

Released all the way back in August of 2020, 24kGoldn’s hit pop anthem “Mood” is still topping charts and inspiring alternative music acts to take it upon themselves to add a heavy twist. Covers from acts such as Fame on Fire and Our Last Night are to be expected, but Utah-based easycore trio Alpine Loop just put their own infectious spin on the popular track and it’s the perfect way to start of 2022.

With the rest of their catalogue, Alpine Loop embraces a classic “pop-punk with breakdowns” formula in the vein of A Day To Remember or Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! - a style perfectly executed on hit singles as “Universal Donor” and “Backwards.” While maintaining that similar style on their cover of “Mood,” the band also stayed true to the pop-sensible source material; a challenging task, the band admits. “The first time we heard "Mood" we knew it was something we could make our own,” says vocalist Travis Casper. “The biggest challenge was keeping the same pop vibe while adding our own twist into it. We didn't just want to add heavy guitars and call it good; we wanted to change the structure just enough to have our signature on it. After adding an original guitar solo, intense vocals, and our own unique buildup after the bridge we felt like we had turned this pop hit to an easycore masterpiece.

Casper also mentioned the band is in the writing process for new original material, which, if “Mood” is any indication of the quality of music we can expect from Alpine Loop in 2022, then we’re in for an absolute treat. “We've got some really cool stuff coming your way in the next few months. We've been writing some of the most musically intense songs we've ever made! It's a bit different than the last few songs we've released but we think our fans will like the change.
