Arkangela Release Second Single Off Upcoming Debut Record ‘Tempus Deserta’

Classic rock, modern metal, and infectious alt-rock are the first descriptors that come to mind when discussing Arkangela and their latest song “C’est La Vie (Leave It Be)”. A melodic fusion of Avenged Sevenfold and HIM, this four-piece band draws influence from every aspect of rock and metal to support their self-reflective lyricism.

“C’est La Vie (Leave It Be)” kicks off with a soft and passionate acoustic section, but quickly progresses into a grandiose metal symphony that carries the story throughout the rest of the track. In true modern metal fashion, it’s an epic ballad with forgiveness at the heart of it’s message. “Equal parts ballad and anthem, “C’est La Vie (Leave It Be)” is a song about forgiveness in your life and learning to live in the moment,” says vocalist Ryan Beck. Bassist Roman Ryliee adds, “Inspired by every moment in life where it’s best to move forward and leave it be, whatever it may be that is keeping you in the past.”

This thoughtful sentiment is emphasized by the soaring instrumentation, just as much as the poignant lyricism throughout. “Take every single moment in your life / Where you feel you gotta find a way to justify / And leave it be / What if we only have one chance to exist? / Is there anything inside your heart left to give? / Leave it be” is a chorus sure to get stuck in your head, while simultaneously evoking self-reflection. Elsewhere, “It won't be long until we waste away / And if we're lucky, somebody may live in our memory / But I see so many people keep empty faces / Misguiding through their lives, holding everything inside / From which they're told they should hide” further details the internal struggle we as humans face, which leads into the powerful chorus that reassuringly tell us we’ll be just fine.

“C’est La Vie (Leave It Be)” is the second single from Arkangela’s debut 12-track record Tempus Deserta, set for a May 20th, 2021 release.
