Ohio Is For Echobreak

Some say Ohio is for lovers, others says Ohio is for emo kids, but what’s for certain is that Ohio is the birthplace of up-and-coming alt rock outfit Echobreak. With the release of their second ever single “Black Lotus”, Echobreak capitalized on the unique sound of their debut “Dreamcatcher”, which they have since doubled-down on with the official remix of “Black Lotus” featuring hip-hop artist JXVE.

Fusing Japanese and Korean pop music influences with the energy of active rock and splashes of electronicore, Echobreak’s debut singles fit well alongside recent releases from Attack Attack! and Motionless In White. Bringing in JXVE to feature on “Black Lotus” seems like a calculated and well-timed move, given the recent attention from acts such as Trippie Redd and Machine Gun Kelly making their mark on the scene.

“Black Lotus” is a familiar story to many, detailing the struggles of committing to a relationship without your partner returning the feeling. "Black Lotus" is about a one sided relationship where the one partner is more concerned with their social status than the actual relationship itself,” says guitarist Brandon Walls. “In short, it's about my ex. The title of the song is a reference to the Magic The Gathering card "Black Lotus", but the lyrics "You're just a black lotus withering" is saying that since a black lotus represents authority and power, by it "withering" means that the partners social status is vain.

With such high-quality debut singles, fans can expect plenty more to come from Echobreak in 2021. They plan to release a new track every month over the course of 2021, without the promise of an album or EP. Be sure to check out the official visualizer for “ Black Lotus (Ft. JXVE)” below and stay tuned for what’s to follow from Echobreak.
